Formerly Dudley House, this Grade II listed building built in 1827 was converted to office space in 1969 by Hammerson PLC, and subsequently modernised. However, the building has now been returned to private ownership, after the owners sold the site to a wealthy Middle Eastern buyer, who plans on restoring the mansion to its former 19th century glory. The refurbishment of this property involves complete internal modernisation and new interior finishes. This includes replacement of the building services to incorporate air conditioning, and domestic and electrical services to the very highest quality. Peter Deer and Associates are working in conjunction with French interior designer Alberto Pinto, and UK architects Formation Architects for this project. Also included is the provision of full air conditioning to the buildings art gallery and ballroom, with air distribution and services routes integrated within premium finishes.

The pool has an infinity edge so that at Thames high water, it appears to connect to the river. To maximise the available space for leisure and health club activities, the engineering plant is squeezed into a low headroom basement and into a louvered architectural detail running up the edge of the building. All the fresh and treated air is drawn through vertical louvers into cabinets with and to the internal spaces. The construction and fit out costs were in excess of £6,000,000, and this project is an example of where quality and design took precedence over budget.

Work included the infill of the gap between Burlington House and the Main Galleries to improve vertical circulation, creating a new sculpture gallery and providing enhanced day lighting. Following the completion of this project, Peter Deer and Associates have retained their involvement with the Royal Academy of Arts, undertaking a continuous stream of project work from 1988 to date. Following Peter's design of Sackler Gallery's glass lift, he was subsequently appointed to design a similar lift at the National Gallery in Dublin. Peter Deer and Associates also engineered the fountains which formed part of the Annenberg Courtyard scheme. This included new granite paving, lighting, basement plant below the main entrance for the fountain pumping and water treatment plant, renewal of all buried mains services below the courtyard and buried services ducts for future cabling to ensure no disturbance/excavation to the paving is required in future.
